We put them in front of a camera and they went nuts telling us what floats their boat about the Gold Coast - this wasn't paid, it's not scripted, its just real people telling you what they dig about their home town.

Pro surfer Bede Durbidge gives you the low down on the best breaks, Television Identity Shelley Craft gets excited talking about her favourite haunts for brekky, lunch and dinner, and swim coach supreme Dennis Cottrell tells you why he reckons the Gold Coast is the breeding ground of champions.

Hi I'm Dennis Cottrell and I'm at the Miami Pool this is work for me and has been for thirty years I've trained the likes of Olympians Daniel Kowoski, Gian Rooney, Grant Hackett all locals from the neighbourhood. You wouldn't know today glorious looking day it was the coldest day of the year but we had a full house. The Gold Coast has so much to offer even on days like this and this is one of the places to be.

Perfect winters day like this I know there's a great swell on down the coast waves everywhere but the points are probably the best, Snapper Rocks right down the southern end Burleigh Heads half way close to the pool here but Snapper Rocks will be the pick today its called the Super Bank its world famous and I'm hoping I can grab a few there later this morning.
